Rick is veteran of the Graphic Arts with over 30 years experience in Typography, Layout & Design, Prepress & Color Management, Retouching, Paper and Printing. He began his industry career in the summer of 1984 at L&S Graphics, Paterson, NJ where he was Jr. Art Director for three years. In 1986 he was commissioned to design a new logo for The Port Authority of NY/NJ which is still in use today. Rick has expert knowledge of all Adobe Applications and with the complete process of print production from sales and customer service to paper, printing, bindery, finishing and delivery. In 1995 he started High Mountain Graphics, Concept to Completion Graphic Communications. Rick is also the founder of BrokenCartons.com, an e-commerce marketplace that helps members buy & sell discounted paper related products using a co-operative and sustainable platform.
Rick attended Passaic County Technical Institute where he studied Commercial & Graphic Arts. Rick and his wife Terri are the parents of one daughter, Rikki Lynn Shields, who is starting her freshman year (Fall 2015) at Manhattan College, Riverdale Bronx, NY. His hobbies include Mixed Martial Arts, swimming and continuous learning.
